We are looking for a dependable Pharmacy Student with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
In this role, you will work to provide excellent patient care by efficiently and accurately filling and delivering medications across the hospital. You must be detail-oriented and possess strong communication skills. Your responsibilities will include labeling medications, delivering medications to Pyxis, managing medication inventory, troubleshooting Pyxis issues as they arise, completing unit inspections, and helping resolve nursing questions. As you advance through your pharmacy curriculum, you will have the opportunity to work in our IV room, OR, and Cancer Center and help with process improvement projects.
Every other weekend (0600-1430)
One evening shift per pay period

The Inpatient Pharmacy at Missouri Baptist Medical Center consists of a Central Pharmacy including an ISO Class 5 Clean Room for sterile product preparation and satellite pharmacies in the Operating Room, the Cancer/Infusion Center, and satellites or decentralized pharmacists on several inpatient floors. The pharmacy department supports robust Medication Therapy Services for inventory management and Pyxis ES for decentral medication storage, an electronic medical record, and smart pump technology with dose error reduction software. The Pharmacy program at MoBap also administers an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency program.

Role Purpose
Under direct supervision of staff pharmacists, the Pharmacy Technician has primary responsibility of preparing drugs in unit-dose for IV/OR, inpatient and ancillary area. According to standard procedures, Pharmacy Students assist the staff pharmacist in physician order processing, dispensing medications, transporting medication supplies and maintaining appropriate records.
Responsibilities
Provides accurately prepared orders of pharmaceutical supplies by properly assembling orders and requisitions with the correct products.
Provides accurately prepared sterile preparations by properly following procedures.
Maintains quality assurance standards and maintenance of required documentation.
Delivers IV solutions and medications to nursing divisions and ancillary departments.
Maintains a clean, orderly and sufficiently stocked work area.
