The community you’ll be caring for:
Our newest hospital in the Kansas City metro area — AdventHealth Lenexa City Center — will include around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services and inpatient beds for medical-surgical and short-stay units.
The new campus will include:
244,000 square feet
Capacity for 96 total beds (44 on opening and 52 slated for future expansion)
Four operating rooms (two upon opening and two slated for future dates)
The role you’ll contribute:
As a member of the Facilities Management Engineering Technician Team, the Engineering Technician II replaces, repairs typical patient room equipment including but not limited to:light bulbs, televisions, thermostats, telephones, curtain tracks, doors and door closers, corner guards, wall base, floor coverings and ceiling tile.Unplugs drains and repairs faucets and flush valves.Responds to electrical, HVAC and plumbing failures.Repairs medical gas outlets, carts, gurneys, IV stands or appliances for patient use.Assists in signage installation as well as other wall hung items.Can provide maintenance support in all area trade disciplines including but not limited to:plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and facility improvement functions.Maintains all safety standards in regard to work activities.Communicates with manager and team regarding progress of work and activities.Assists in maintaining team work schedule.Maintains understanding of JCAHO regulations and provides support in meeting the requirements.Participates in Quality Improvement.Maintains and replaces medical gasses as needed in ODC basement and tank farm areas.Responds to equipment failures in the Boiler Room.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Tests and runs emergency power generators and transfer switches.
Tests and resets fire alarm systems.
Maintains all air filters in air handling units, furnaces, air conditioners and all related equipment.
Installs and/or replaces ceiling tiles.
Opens clogged drains with plumber’s snake or vacuum plunger.
Repairs and maintains piping system and plumbing fixtures.
Repairs switches, cords, plugs, etc on electrical appliances.
May work to cover shifts, or call or specific assignments as required by medical center needs.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Qualifications required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
1 to 2 Years of Position-Related Experience
Valid Driver’s License
Qualifications preferred:
Associate’s Degree or Graduate of a Technical School
Two to 5 years of Position-Related Experience
