The Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital Addiction Recovery Program provides outstanding, innovative, and evidence-based care to patients with substance use disorders. We are seeking an addiction medicine attending physician to work in the inpatient realm of addiction treatment. This would include providing direct care on our 8-bed American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Level IV unit for intensive medically managed withdrawal and consultative support on our inpatient addiction consultation service. This is a unique opportunity to obtain valuable experience caring for medically complex inpatients in the stimulating and supportive environment of a top academic medical center. In addition to the clinical responsibilities, the position provides a substantial amount of time overseeing and mentoring trainees including medical students and house staff including residents and fellows.
Successful candidates for the position must have an M.D. or equivalent degree, board certification in internal medicine and board certification or board eligibility in addiction medicine. The candidate should have effective interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills. The academic rank of Instructor at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training, and academic achievements.
