Mental Health America (MHA) is in search of a Marketing & Development Manager (MDM) who will provide support to the functional areas overseen by the Chief Marketing and Advancement Officer: fundraising, communications, and marketing. This is a role for a marketing and development generalist with a strong familiarity with e-marketing strategies and an ability to work on a variety of shifting task-oriented work. To support MHA’s marketing, this individual will develop and be responsible for organizational e-marketing (general email, marketing, and fundraising), support the creation of pitch decks and funder materials, and support fulfillment and customer service for MHA’s e-commerce store. To support MHA’s Marketing and Development team, this position would provide project coordination, tracking, and administrative and management support to the Communications, Marketing, and Development teams, as needed. While this position has a single supervisor, the individual will need to manage task assignments from multiple team members.

Marketing and Fundraising Support
Responsible for all email and E-marketing. This includes maintaining an organizational email schedule, managing the internal email request process, maintaining email lists, crafting marketing emails, developing segmentation and engagement strategies, and advising on marketing and e-donor strategies. Consistentlyassess the effectiveness of emails, tracking analytics and conversion rates, and adjusting the overall content strategy according to relevant analytics and insights.
Create content and collateral for marketing materials and donor engagement using tools like Canva, Google Slides, PowerPoint, etc.
Internal coordination of marketing inputs, such as the team dashboard and development of MHA’s Annual Report.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Support MHA’s e-commerce Store
Working from MHA National Office, responsible for MHA e-commerce store inventory management and order processing.
Will support some customer service and draft e-marketing content.
Team Support & Cross-Departmental Coordination
Provide overall management and administrative support to the Communications, Marketing, and Development team, including weekly donor acknowledgment letters, organizing team agenda and dashboard, drives and files, and support with slide deck creation.
Work closely with Chief Marketing and Advancement Officer, Chief Social Impact Officer, and VP of Digital Marketing to support cross-department coordination.

Identify and engage diverse voices on e-marketing and general marketing to produce content showcasing diverse perspectives and to diversify the organization’s audience.
Prioritizes DEI and social determinants of health in research, projects, and materials.
This position is located in Alexandria, VA, with the option to work from home several days per week as agreed upon with the manager.
