The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, Jackson, MS is seeking a full-time Physician Chief - Quality, Safety, and Improvement, board certified or board eligible, to join our expanding clinical practice. We are fully committed to providing top quality medical care by serving and honoring America’s Veterans.
Candidate must possess MD/DO from an accredited institution, have completed residency training to board certification, and possess an active, current, unrestricted license in any U.S. State or territory.
Highlights of this opportunity:
Potential starting base salary range: $175,000-$275,000
Daily schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays, and possible 5 days paid for CME)
No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting

Jackson, MS, consist of eight colleges and universities,three community colleges, and 11 school districts. Also, numerous private schools covering pre-k through college are located throughout the metro area. The metro area has a good inventory of luxury homesand homes for first-time home buyers on the market. These homes are conveniently located for work, school, and play. Due to ourlong summers and mild winters,several recreational and leisure facilities provide great opportunities for indoor and outdoor activities. Some of the facilities include the Natchez Trace Parkway which is a historic route maintained by the National Park Service, challenging and scenic golf courses, Parham Bridges Tennis Center, H. B. Responsibilities:
Provides a wide range of administrative and clinical medical center issues. The counsel and advice often extend beyond the incumbent's normal program area and are often based on their interactive experience with various services, knowledge of various regulatory requirements, legal requirements, and VHA directives.
The incumbent participates fully in the planning and directing all top leadership committees and many advisory committees to facilitate top management decisions.
Participates with the Pentad in strategic planning with both short- and long-term goals and consideration of resource allocation. Serves on the following key advisory committees: Executive Leadership Counsel (ELC), Quality Patient Safety Board (QSPB), Clinical Executive Board (CEB), as well as other medical center boards and committees.
