Job Description

We are:

The Pharmacy Department uses a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, where the emphasis is on therapeutic efficacy and safety. We provide comprehensive, clinical and dispensing services in both the inpatient and ambulatory care settings which includes an extensive investigational portfolio. The department has one of the most robust set of electronic clinical resources in the country and a dynamic medication safety program.

Across the Center, we review 1.5 million orders per year and dispense over three million doses of medication annually. The Pharmacy Department has more than 450 employees with approximately 300 pharmacists servicing patients in 26 pharmacy satellites, including inpatient unit-based satellites in all oncological specialties. Our Regional care network consists of 6 ambulatory care locations in New York and New Jersey.

Memorial Sloan Kettering provides free, live, onsite, accredited continuing education pharmacy courses to help keep your credentials up to date. The department will also sponsor national and state membership for pharmacy organizations and appropriate off-site informative meetings. We are seeking a Pharmacist Manager to lead our MSK Basking Ridge Team!

The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day activities and Pharmacy Services provided at the site. The Manager will ensure efficient and cost effective operations, quality service and regulatory compliance. The Manager will also represent the MSK Basking Ridge Pharmacy team as a liaison with other departments and will serve as the Pharmacist in Charge.

You are:

• Able to problem-solve operational, personnel, and patient issues
• Diligent and willing to adapt to changes in workflow to improve patient care
• A fast learner who can efficiently and accurately evaluate new information with new non-chemotherapy and chemotherapy agents being approved every few months and new protocols opening frequently
• Able to make sound decisions, even in the absence of complete information
• Highly motivated and able to work well with others

Your duties:

• Staff management, recruitment & performance appraisals
• Supervise new staff training and development
• Troubleshoot and problem tackle issues independently
• Participate in process improvement initiatives
• Inventory control & drug shortage management
• Multidisciplinary practice committees & QA activities
• Schedule development & payroll activities

You need:

• PharmD (or equivalent)
• NJ Pharmacy license (must be active at the time of application)
• Confirmed experience in Chemotherapy Operations and Managerial experience (preferred)
• Prior retail pharmacy experience beneficial
• IV compounding experience (preferred)
• Omnicell and EPIC experience beneficial

Hours:

• Current hours of operation are as early as 7 AM and as late as 8 PM, Monday through Friday. Days/hours of operation are subject to change based on patient need.
