TheAmbulatory IV Room Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for the preparation,distribution, and control of sterile injectable medications. Roles andresponsibilities include chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy sterile compounding,record keeping (refrigerator temperature logs and hood cleaning), drugdistribution and maintaining inventory. All duties are performedindependently by the technician under the supervision of a Pharmacist.
Schedule:Varied hours, depending on department needs, including weekends and holidays
HourlySalary Range: $26.55 - 32.36 (Union represented, step based salary depending onyears of experience)
BargainingUnit: EX - AFSCME
CAPharmacy Technician license - required
Abilityto compound chemotherapy utilizing departmental guidelines for thepreparation/distribution of cytotoxic agents- required
Atleast 1 year of IV sterile compounding pharmacy experience- required
Skillin preparing intravenous solutions using aseptic technique.
Abilityto accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations.
Abilityto work independently and follow-through on assignments with minimalsupervision.
Skillin computer order entry of medication orders as well as other related computerentry tasks and computer report generation.
Telephoneand verbal skills required to communicate clearly and effectively withpharmacists, nurses, physicians and other health professionals.
Frequentstanding, walking, bending, reaching.
Abilityto lift 25 lbs and push 50 lbs
