Labcorp's Women's Health and Genetics Division is seeking a Genomics Data Analyst to join our Reporting Department at MNG in Atlanta, GA. The Reporting Department is responsible for accurate and timely reporting of laboratory results, consistent with all quality assurance, compliance, and turnaround time objectives. The Genomics Data Analyst will assist the Reporting Department with the analysis of next-generation sequencing (NGS), Sanger, MLPA, and other types of molecular genetics data. The Analyst will work closely with the laboratory and the clinical directors to ensure high quality results are provided to patients.
The schedule for this position will be: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm EST.
Job Responsibilities
Review genomics data from NGS, Sanger, qPCR, repeat-primed PCR, and MLPA assays to facilitate high quality testing
Provide accurate and reliable data analyses to clinical directors, with supporting documentation
Assist with collating results from various laboratory tests and preparing test reports
Ensure quality by performing QC and QA checks, adhering to SOPs, and maintaining competency
Identify and suggest process improvements to the Reporting Supervisor
Recognize problems, contribute to troubleshooting, and escalate problems appropriately
Perform administrative tasks as assigned, including documentation, maintenance of SOPs, participation in proficiency testing, and support of user acceptance testing for new test launches
Comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, health and safety policies and procedures, and the requirements of accrediting organizations.
Collaborate with other departments to continually improve the flow of information among project workgroups during development and testing
Aid in training of additional members of the team
Maintain expertise through continuing education
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements
A minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience is required OR an MLS degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
2-3 years of clinical laboratory testing experience
ASCP or AMT certification
Previous experience with sequence analysis and familiarity with sequence analysis software
Proficiency in computing and internet skills, including use of in-house and online databases and browsers, and Excel and Adobe
Ability to work independently, delivering accurate documentation under deadline pressure
Strong organizational skills and ability to cooperate with and communicate across various departments
