Job Description

Financial Analyst III

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are hiring a mid-level Financial Analyst III to support MSK's educational portfolio. This role will support the financial management needs of programs that contribute to MSK's mission of training the next generation of research scientists and healthcare professionals.

Role Overview:

• Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts. Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Track expenses, identify variances, and support monthly commentary processes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance financial operations.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements related to funding and expenditures.
• Work closely with program directors, department administrators, and other stakeholders to support the financial needs of educational programs. Provide training and guidance on financial matters as needed.
• Be able to navigate all MSK Financial Data Sources and related applications (e.g., Strata, COGNOS, BI Dashboards, e Planning, CHM, etc.)
• Manage ad-hoc data requests and ensure that reports are complete and accurate.
• Investigate and provide ongoing analysis of business unit performance and highlight drivers of variances vs. budget and forecast.

Key Qualifications:

• 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or accounting, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting tools.
• Advanced Excel skills are required.
• Experience with financial management systems and software.
• Knowledge of healthcare finance
