Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System (SAVAHCS) in scenic sunny Yuma, Arizona is currently looking for an outpatient primary care PACT (patient aligned care team) Medical Director.
The (SAVAHCS) is a state-of-the-art network of health care facilities throughout Southern Arizona comprised of the medical center in Tucson, Arizona and seven Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Casa Grande, Green Valley, Safford, Sierra Vista, Yuma, Northwest, and Southeast Tucson.
Our outpatient clinic provides primary care and specialty health services, including audiology and speech, mental health care, physical and occupational therapy, telehealth, women’s health services, and more.
Position Information:
The PACT Medical Director reports directly to Primary Care Leadership regularly for quality improvement progress, while also providing direct medical care to Veterans. This position will work out of the Yuma CBOC (community-based outpatient clinic) Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Overseeing the operations for patient care according to the rules and regulations set by the Veterans Healthcare Administration, Medical Bylaws, Primary Care SOPs, and all other federal and State laws, rules, and regulations.
Develops, reviews, and implements clinic policies and procedures as needed with final approval from the Chief of Primary Care. Trains clinic and ancillary staff on the new policies and procedures as effective and efficiently as possible.
Reviews Veteran complaints, investigates, delegates, and summarizes cohesive response along with the clinic office manager and clinical nurse manager.
Ensures communication and collaboration with Ancillary Services and their leadership.
Works seamlessly with other health care team members and supports VA patient satisfaction initiatives.
Provides direct patient care to optimize patient health including ordering diagnostic testing, prescribing medication including contraceptive medication, consulting with specialty services, and utilizing computerized/electronic medical records.
Provides patient care in accordance with professional standards, core values and commitment to service excellence.

It is a part of the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System (SAVAHCS) which comprised of the Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona and seven other Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Casa Grande, Green Valley, Safford, Sierra Vista, Yuma, Northwest, and Southeast Tucson.
Requirements:
US Citizen – (with a possibility of considering non- US Citizens per VA Policy)
Must have an active and unrestricted license in any of the US States
Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathic medicine
Residency Training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine in any of the US States
Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Work Schedule: Four - 10-hour shifts, Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
