The Associate Director of the UCLA Alzheimer's and Dementia Care Program (ADC) is responsible for clinical operations, and with the program director manages the ADC budget, clinical space, and supervision of the Nurse Practitioner, Dementia Care Specialists (DCSs).
Major duties include but are not limited to:
Ensuring optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and the provision of patient care delivery in assigned area.
Oversee clinical care provided by the Dementia Care Specialist, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Dementia Care Assistants and ensures compliance with organizational and regulatory agency standards.
Be accountable for the quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of patient care and coordinates financial, material, and human resources.
Supervises the Dementia Care Specialists (DCS), including:1) Recruitment efforts, training, clinical care, and mentoring DCSs, 2) Engaging DCSs in continuous professional development, 3) Introducing new resources, programs, and initiatives to the attention of the DCSs, 4) Completes annual DCS performance evaluation.
Represent the ADC program to primary care and specialty physicians, including resolving conflicts and communication issues as necessary, consulting, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care management.
Be a resource to staff, physicians, students, and others regarding the ADC program and the role of DCS.
Be a practicing clinician and administrator.
Advanced Practice Provider/ Nurse practitioner and shall function in accordance with the appropriate standardized procedures or delegation agreement.
The Director of Nursing Health Care Equity analyzes data, draws insightful observations, and provides recommendations to enhance health care equity initiatives impacting nursing and non-physician staff across the hospital and clinic systems. The Director of Nursing Health Care Equity will influence policies and practices, driving improvements to ensure alignment with organizational goals. The Director of Nursing Health Care Equity will serve as the primary liaison to nursing leadership and staff including, but not limited to: offering support to the Center of Nursing Excellence, serving as the Executive Sponsor for the Unity in Diversity Nursing Professional Governance Council, and ensuring strong alignment between nursing care and performance improvement initiatives and the organizational health care equity strategic priorities.
Salary Range: $177,100 - $436,100/annually
Qualifications
Required
NP Certificate from State of CA, State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II, National Board Certification- required
State of California licensure as RN-required
NPI, DEA, Enrollment with PECOS, Enrollment in CURES
BLS Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross- required
Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing - Np Specialty
Experience working in a Magnet Facility- required
Must be familiar with and comply with specific and detailed safety procedures, such as biosafety and confined entry requirements, radiation safety and biosafety protocols, asbestos removal procedures, specifics of Material Safety Data Sheets, etc.
Must be able to appropriately fit and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as TB masks, goggles, face shields, gowns, gloves and protective safety equipment such as safety glasses and safety shoes.
Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence
Mustparticipate in preventive medical programs, including immunizations, medicalsurveillance, and physical examinations.
Document patient care in a concise and comprehensive manner
All health practitioners have mandatory reporting responsibilities when an adult (or a minor who meets special circumstances) presents at UCLA Health as an outpatient or inpatient from any source, and if a person presents for treatment of injuries related to domestic violence; or if one has knowledge of or observes a child who one knows or reasonably suspects is the victim of child abuse; or if one has knowledge of, or reasonably suspects that an elder or a dependent adult is the victim of elder/dependent adult abuse. Non-health practitioners, who suspect that an individual is a victim of abuse as outlined above, are required to report their suspicions to a health practitioner. All employees have a mandatory responsibility for knowing and complying with the Code of Conduct standards and the Compliance Program.
