The Mgr Workforce Development is a subject matter professional, accountable for assessing needs, and creating and delivering training to enhance the technical skills of separate employees and teams.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Assesses and resolves the training needs of separate employees and teams and contributes to the development and implementation of appropriate training programs and materials. Contributes to the development and enhancement of service training delivery through the provision of professional and/or technical advice and participation in projects, investigative work and the resolution of complex training issues.
Works with department leadership in identifying and correcting deficiencies through quality improvement.
Monitors, evaluates and reviews the effectiveness of training and development programs and activities.
Contributes to the development and implementation of a training calendar to meet learning and development needs.
Identifies the need for and contributes to the development of procedural manuals and user documentation.
Assists in the coordination of day-to-day production processes and activities within a service delivery section.
Develops, oversees, and contributes to training team outcomes and metrics.
Hires, terminates, conducts performance evaluations and develops assigned staff. Effectively manages assigned staff using established company policies and procedures and in compliance with state and federal labor laws.
Oversees staffing needs, monitors attendance and implements corrective action based on policies and procedures.
Contributes to and helps the delivery and maintenance of efficient work practices within the department.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Ability to contribute to the development of training programs and strategies, undertake training needs research and deliver training to team members, large, and small groups.
Possess a sound technical knowledge in a relevant training delivery function, with the ability to exercise sound operational knowledge of established programs, processes, policies and activities to guide work processes.
Proven ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members and clients, using social skills to foster care and cooperation.
Ability to help the development of the skills of team members and small groups to improve and enhance operational efficiency through training and development activities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to develop training materials.
Ability to work under general direction to plan, organize and prioritize tasks and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and effectively.
Knowledge of quality assurance and system integrity and how it relates to contributing to preventative actions, helping the quality targets.
Ability to deliver training with a focus on improving training content and process standardization.
Ability to build excellent relationships with staff at all levels.
