Schedule: Full Time 40 hours - 5x 8 hour shifts (with ½ meal break) with the potential of working from: 5am-1:30, 7am-3:30 or 10am – 6:30. There is an every other weekend requirement.

The role you’ll contribute: Under the direct supervision of the Nutritional Services Supervisor, the cook will prepare, season and cook food for hospital patients, staff and visitors.
The value you’ll bring to the team
- Prepare, season, cook and bake food for hospital patients, staff and visitors.
- Ensures meals are ready at specified times.
- Consults with Nutritional Services Supervisor regarding use of left-overs.
- Consults Clinical Dietitian on modified diets, as necessary.
- Supervises Nutritional workers when washing, trimming or preparing food.
- Tests foods being cooked to ensure doneness. Adjusts heat controls as necessary.
- Observes infection control practices at all times.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Previous experience in food preparation.
