The community you’ll be caring for: 701 W. Plymouth Ave. Deland, FL
The role you’ll contribute:
Prepares food in compliance with guidelines and standardized recipes.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
·Cooks, prepares, and seasons soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments
·Reviews menu and special orders to determine type and quantity of food items to be prepared
·Follows cooking schedule and ensures food is ready at specified times. Confers with Supervisor personnel regarding modified diet preparation and use of leftovers
·Prepare food in accordance with all governmental, sanitary, and dietary regulations as well as established policies and procedures
·Informs manager of any equipment malfunctions, problems with food quantity or quality, inefficient procedures or workflow, and supplies department with forms comply with personnel
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
·High school graduate or equivalent required
·One year of foodservice experience in a high volume culinary production capacity
·Must have ability to read, write and follow oral and written instruction in English
·Knowledge of cooking methods is needed.
Preferred qualifications:
·Associate’s degree or Technical degree in a related field or combination of High School degree and related experience
·Two years of technical experience
·May be required to obtain and maintain state specific certifications
·Knowledge about working in the food industry
·Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
