Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (JDCH) is seeking a pediatric epileptologist with expertise in epilepsy surgery to join a comprehensive team of eight child neurologists in the Division of Pediatric Neurology. A full range of pediatric neurology services are offered within the JDCH Neuroscience Center. The neuroscience team is multidisciplinary and includes child neurologists with expertise in multiple sub-specialties, pediatric neurosurgeons, and a pediatric neuropsychologist. Candidates should be BE/BC in neurology with special qualification in pediatric neurology and BE/BC in epilepsy. A qualified candidate will have training in presurgical evaluations and surgical planning within a multidisciplinary epilepsy management team. Clinical duties will include evaluating and treating complex patients; evaluating and treating patients in the epilepsy monitoring unit, including those with intracranial recordings; interpreting and reporting EEGs, including short and long-term inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory EEG recordings, as well as EEGs in critically ill patients. Research initiatives will be fully and actively supported through the Office of Human Research, though this is not a requirement of the position. The incoming physician will have the support of a full complement of pediatric specialists and services.
This is a full-time employed position with the multi-specialty Memorial Physician Group. The position offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.

Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is a 226 bed free-standing children’s hospital in Hollywood, Broward County, Florida located near Fort Lauderdale. The hospital is currently undergoing a 4-story vertical expansion to double the number of floors and to continue to meet its commitment to providing the highest quality and safest care for children in the region. This expansion is scheduled to open the Fall of 2022 and includes a new CVICU and Cardiac Step Down Unit as well as state-of-the-art ORs and cath labs.
Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is one of six hospitals that are part of Memorial Healthcare System, the third largest public health system in the country. Memorial delivers nearly 14,000 babies per year in three hospitals and has 132 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) beds – both Level II and III services (the state of Florida does not yet have a separate designation for Level IV care).
Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital (JDCH) has robust high-risk and congenital programs including a US News and World Report ranked pediatric Cardiology and Heart Surgery Program, one of only two active programs in the state that does heart transplant...s. JDCH’s Orthopedic and Sports Medicine program is also ranked by US News and World Report as number one in Florida and is one of the largest programs in the southeastern United States. JDCH also has robust Neurosciences, Hematology/Oncology and other specialized surgical programs (approximately 10,000 surgeries per year), and the area’s largest pediatric and neonatal transport team, which also does mobile ECMO.
JDCH serves over 375,000 children per year from around the state. Approximately 100,000 children are cared for in our three emergency rooms across the county per year. JDCH’s services continue to grow with the opening of the new specialty center/ambulatory surgery center in Palm Beach County in 2018 and a new ambulatory pavilion in Miramar, near Miami-Dade County which will open in 2022.
