The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealthWaterman - 1000 WATERMAN WAY, Tavares, FL 32778
The role you’ll contribute:Evaluates and treats patients with physical, emotional, cognitive, and/or psychosocial deficits.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
·Assesses patient ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills
·Designs appropriate plans of care, including type and frequency of treatment
·Implements treatment plans using appropriate modalities
·Documents patient progress
·Plans and assists with patient discharge from therapy services and provides information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs
·Oversees the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians, according to established regulations and practice standards
·Meets productivity standard as defined by department
·Handles and disposes of hazardous waste following established protocol and consistently adheres to department’s radiation dosimetry process, including meeting all badge return deadlines in a timely manner as required by facility or business unit.
·Documents and charges patients progress accurately completely and timely
·At least entry level competency of occupational therapy practice theory principle and applications as defined in competency department policies
·Attends department meetings and education as required
·May assist with teaching clinical students
·Uses measurable and objective terminology following standard practice insurance guideline and department procedures
·May assist when available to market Occupational therapy program in the hospital and community
·Willingly adjust and adapt to changes in patient census by altering working hours to assist in other centers, programs as needed, approved and observed by manager
·Performs other duties as assigned
·May be asked to prepare reports and attend multidisciplinary case meetings to determine and review continuing treatments
·Ability to perform standard diagnostics and examinations
·Ability to collaborate and coordinate with other health care professionals in the management and implementation of care within and across care settings and communities
·Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
·Charges patients accurately and timely according to insurance guidelines
·Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
·Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
REQUIRED:
·Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
·Licensed in applicable state
·Occupational Therapy License
