Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, CO is looking for a dynamic and committed physician leader to join our team as Chief of Hospital Medicine. The primary role of this position is to provide administrative oversight and supervision of the staff assigned to the Hospitalist Section. Clinical duties will include evaluating patients admitted to Medical Service for inpatient management and disposition and working closely with medical and surgical consultants and primary care physicians to ensure that inpatients receive continuous high-quality care. This role involves clinical, academic, and potential research responsibilities within a highly respected medical center and teaching environment. We are also looking for candidates who have an interest in quality improvement, and a commitment to bettering systems issues to improve Veteran care and access. The Hospitalist is expected to demonstrate behaviors that reflect a commitment to continuous professional development and ethical practice.
Supervision of residents is a major duty of this position. Practitioners are expected to be effective at teaching, be able to monitor and coordinate educational activities, and comply with necessary trainee supervision requirements. You must qualify for an academic appointment at our affiliated university, University of Colorado (CU), Denver.
Salary Range: $275,000-$300,000
Work Schedule: Hospitalist: Days: 7a-5p and Swing: 3pm-10pm; Nocturnist: 7p-7a; 28 weeks of clinical coverage a year, including weekend coverage and rotating holiday coverage; physicians are expected to provide service during off-tours (nights, weekends, and holidays) as needed by the organization.
