JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an Ophthalmic Photographer to perform a variety of highly skilled duties associated with the operation of specialized equipment to assist physicians in the examination and diagnosis of eye diseases. Perform multiple ophthalmic imaging procedures including but not limited to: digital fluorescein/ICG angiography (including performing IV injections and related patient care), color fundus photography, optical coherence tomography, retinal thickness analysis, anterior segment slit-lamp biomicroscopy, goniography, external and O.R. photography, public relations and teaching-based general photography and media support. Travel between sites may be required.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Support for ophthalmology specialist utilizing various diagnostic machines. Training and validation will be required on the following: Heidelberg 6 mode and 3 mode, Optos California and Silverstone, Topcon fundus Camera, Clarus, Bioptigen, Ellex A-scan and B-Scan, Confocal and Haag Streit Slit Lamp Camera, assist with staffing mobile diagnostic unit.
Certify on all Research Studies. Perform review of imaging for Research Cases and upload to sites as requested by the CRU/PI
Fulfill requests by HIM for images. Download images to appropriate media and coordinate delivery with HIM department
Maintain equipment databases, calibrate machines as needed, notify manager of any clinical engineering needs
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Experience with IVFA and ICG, as well as fundus photography, OCT and ultrasonography is desired.
Work requires considerable knowledge of standard photographic techniques, materials, processes, and equipment generally obtained through two years of postsecondary training in photography or medical/biomedical photography/communications and certification as a retinal photographer/angiographer through fundus photograph and OCT reading centers. (Acceptable reading centers include University of Wisconsin, Duke University OCT Reading Center, Digital Angiography Reading Center, New York and Digital OCT Reading Center at the Cleveland Clinic.)
Requires clinical trial certification. Certification as a certified phlebotomy technician is a plus. Must obtain Certified phlebotomy technician certification within 6 months of hire. Must obtain all current clinical trial certifications within 6 months of hire.
Work three years experience of photography experience to become proficient in performing a variety of complex medical or ophthalmic photography activities involving specialized photographic procedures such as stereo fundus photography, slit lamp and goniophotography, fluorescein and ICG angiography, optical coherence tomography, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
