SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for leading high-impact enterprise IT projects frequently involving multiple technology and organizational domains. Leads mission-spanning (clinical, academic, and research) projects involving both complex IT systems implementations and process redesign, utilizing established project management methodology(s), processes, and toolsets. Contribute to the team's development and evolution of the enterprise IT project management methodology(s), processes, and toolsets, involving various approaches for managing project activities, including lean, iterative, incremental, and phased approaches. Educate and mentor less experienced IT employees in the use of project management methodology.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The percentage of time spent performing essential functions is 95%. Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
Working under limited supervision, manage all aspects of enterprise IT projects frequently involving multiple technology and organizational domains.
Lead mission-spanning (clinical, academic, or research) projects that involve both complex IT system implementations and process redesign, utilizing established enterprise IT project methodology(s) which may represent various approaches to managing project activities, including: lean, iterative, incremental, and phased approaches.
Drive project team performance, motivation, and outcomes in a dynamically changing environment where business rules may be subject to interpretation; Maintain and apply knowledge of applicable industry regulations, industry best practices, and the IT applications and service portfolios to propose innovative and congruent solutions.
Lead system acquisition analysis including the development and review of RFI/RFPs.
Coordinate directly with IT Managers for contract review and projects spanning multiple IT areas.
Assist IT Leadership and Program Managers to identify opportunities for the alignment of projects within the IT projects portfolio to advance strategic business and IT initiatives, advance technology architecture programs, and realize project synergies.
Contribute to the teams development and evolution of the enterprise IT project management methodology(s), processes, and toolsets, involving various approaches for managing project activities, including lean, iterative, incremental, and phased approaches.
Contribute to the development and ongoing enhancement of the enterprise IT project management methodology, processes, and toolsets.
Assist with the routine administration of, and reporting from the IT projects and systems portfolios to IT leadership.
Lead project teams including management from IT and other departments, representatives from strategic business partners, outside contractors, and vendors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Either: a) Bachelor's degree plus 6 years related experience, or b) 10 years total related experience managing complex enterprise projects involving significant technology and organizational change required
Experience using structured project management methodology required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Ability to embrace/resolve ambiguity through independent research and the conceptualization of creative technology and organizational solutions required
Ability to drive team performance, motivation, and outcomes in a dynamically changing environment required
Ability to balance business and technology objectives required
Ability to align tactical deliverables to advance broad strategic objectives required
Solid understanding of the IT system development lifecycle system design components, and information privacy and security concepts required
Ability to multitask and manage multiple concurrent projects in a cross-functional environment required
Excellent oral and written communication skills required
Excellent facilitation skills required
Strong analysis, design, and implementation experience with technologies required
Proven ability, sensitivity, and commitment to solving broad-based business problems required
Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations required
Solutions-oriented mindset required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in healthcare, multiple IT disciplines, and/or staff management preferred Experience with both Waterfall and Agile project methodologies is preferred Current project management certification preferred
