This position is located in Nursing Services, Surgery Department-Operating Room and the incumbent reports directly to the Nurse Manager of the Operating Room. The Surgical Technician is a member of the surgical team and provides assistance to the surgeon and other members during surgical procedures. Incumbent will report to Downtown Division. Transporting patients to and from the OR using safe transport techniques, performs patient care as directed/assigned, operating and maintaining highly technical equipment and instrumentation; utilizing positioning devices or equipment safely and appropriately to prevent patient injury. OR, Education: There is typically no educational substitution for the GS-7 level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond graduate level and must include graduate courses directly related to the work of the Surgical Technician position. Preferred Experience: Associate degree from an accredited Surgical Technician program. Experience functioning in complex surgical cases including but not limited to general surgery, GYN, orthopedics, ENT and robotics. Certified (CST) or (AST).
