As a member of the Transport Crew, assists in meeting the physical and emotional needs of ill and injured patients. Promotes safe and efficient operation of Flight For Life.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
One year of experience as a licensed EMT
One year of experience driving ambulance or other emergency vehicle
Two years as a licensed driver
Familiarity with local region
High School Diploma/GED required
Current Colorado State EMT certification required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from American Heart Association required
IV certification within 2 months of hire required
Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operator (EVOC or CVEO) within 6 months of hire/transfer and Valid Colorado driver?s license and no moving violations for past two years required
Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 12 months of hire/transfer for EMT?s doing BLS transports required
Physical Requirements: Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

In continuous service since 1972, St. Anthony Flight For Life was the first civilian, hospital-based emergency medical helicopter in the United States. Over 300 flight programs around the country and around the world have since been modeled on this concept. Over 90,000 flights later, we have served as a community service to the people of Colorado and the surrounding Rocky Mountain Region. Our rigorous training, comprehensive coverage and decades of proven service have made us the air medical program of choice for hospitals, EMS agencies, search and rescue teams, and ski patrols across the state. Our helicopters operate within a 150 mile radius of Denver Metro, Summit County, and the regions surrounding Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Durango, northern New Mexico and southeastern Utah. We provide critical care transport with five helicopters, three ambulances, and three airplanes with industry leading technology and a highly experienced team. Unique capabilities in addition general transport capabilities include:
Whole blood to transfuse for patients with traumatic hemorrhage.
Cardiac life-sustaining technology including Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of the Aorta (REBOA), intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella ventricular assist device and ECMO heart and lung assist.
High risk obstetrical care
Pediatric critical care
Mountain rescue with high-altitude landing and back country capabilities
Our fixed wing airplanes are operated by Mayo Aviation, Inc, and our helicopters are operated by Air Methods, Corp.
