We values our incredible Certified Nursing Assistants and want to ensure they practice at top of their license to better optimize their skills and experience. We?ve also developed a career path framework for CNAs that clarifies paths to move, develop and advance CNA careers into nursing and other roles. The Certified Nursing Assistants provides direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a RN and in accordance with policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Six months previous CNA experience preferred
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Basic computer skills
Previous customer service experience preferred
High School diploma or GED required
Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program required
State registered CNA license required
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training preferred. CPI training required if sitting with M-1 holds
Physical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

The 4th Floor at Penrose Hospital is a 24-bed Medical/Surgical, Primary Stroke, respiratory unit with three dedicated rooms for reverse isolation with ventilator capabilities. We treat a variety of patients including endocrine, cardiac, gastrointestinal, genitourinary and receive trauma, surgical, oncology and ortho overflow. Our nursing unit is a great place to learn and grow in your career in an established Magnet® designated hospital. We have a close group of employees who are active in our Unit Practice Council, Events Committee, summer BBQs, winter gatherings and Fall Harvest events. Our unit has a culture of safety, hybrid self- scheduling, reimbursements for higher education/certificates, career ladders (i.e. preceptorship, Charge Nurse) and are encouraged to be part of a committee. We look for candidates who are willing to learn and are coachable, flexible, resilient and team-oriented. This is a vibrant team and we are passionate about helping patients and families during these challenging times in their health to make sure that they have a great patient/family experience.
