The Opportunity:
MaineHealth is seeking a President of MaineHealth Memorial Hospital, a 25 bed, $119M in net revenue in FY 24, critical access hospital that provides acute and long-term care services to the residents of Mount Washington Valley and surrounding areas. Reporting to the MaineHealth Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees and the MaineHealth Mountain Region President, the MaineHealth Memorial Hospital President will provide the leadership that the hospital needs to ensure its ongoing growth and success. The President will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and will be responsible for the overall administration and direction of the Hospital within broad policies established by the Board and in accordance with the MaineHealth values and mission.
The President is the lead executive for MaineHealth Memorial Hospital and is a member of the Regional Leadership team for the MaineHealth Mountain Region. The President represents MaineHealth Memorial Hospital in the local community, as well as across the Mountain Region and within the MaineHealth system.

MaineHealth Memorial Hospital is a not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital which provides acute care and long-term care services to the residents of North Conway, New Hampshire, and the surrounding communities. MaineHealth Memorial Hospital was established in 1911 and has been providing high-quality healthcare services to the Mt. Washington Valley Community for more than 100 years. With approximately 525 employees, Memorial Hospital is a major employer in its service area and benefits from a loyal, dedicated, long-tenured and family-oriented workforce/culture. Today MaineHealth Memorial Hospital is governed by a 14-member Board of Trustees comprised of dedicated business and civic leaders from the area. Memorial affiliated with MaineHealth in 2013. Key leaders from MaineHealth also sit on the Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees. MaineHealth, headquartered in Portland, Maine, is the largest health system in northern New England.
The Region:
North Conway, a year-round resort area, is the largest village within the town of Conway, New Hampshire. Conway comprises five villages: Conway, North Conway, Center Conway, Redstone and Kearsarge. Conway is bordered on the east by the Maine state line and the White Mountain National Forest to the west and north. Surrounded by the majestic White Mountain National Forest, the Presidential Range with Mt. Washington, the Moat Mountains, and Rattlesnake Ridge, year-round outdoor recreation is part of the fabric of North Conway and the surrounding towns. There is no shortage of ways to explore the area throughout the year and skiing, hiking, and rock climbing are a few of the popular activities of the local residents.
The Ideal Candidate:
Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible, successful leadership experience in healthcare management.
Leadership experience within a community hospital environment is required; leadership experience in a critical access hospital is preferred.
Strategic and operational focused leader within a multi-hospital system is critical and familiarity/experience leading within a regional model is ideal.
The successful candidate will currently be a President/CEO, COO, SVP/VP Operations, or hold another senior executive-level position in a healthcare provider organization.
Strategic and operational focused leader within health system setting.
Leader must possess outstanding and hands-on operational leadership skills/experience.
Prior experience working collaboratively with a Board, with transparency and trust and willingness to encourage open discussion of key issues appropriate at Board levels.
Rural healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
An undergraduate degree is required. A relevant graduate degree (MBA, MHA, MD or other advanced clinical degree) is preferred.
