Summary:
The Data Analyst I (DAI) is an entry level role that supports departmental and organizational priorities by building data sources and enhancing data solutions. The DAI has fundamental knowledge of relational databases.
Responsibilities:
The position will also work with the vendor and other system users across the country to determine the best way to produce the output UNC needs to facilitate business. They will participate on vendor focus groups to improve the product and the are expected to be a leader of any user groups that are formulated. The position will review other data sources used by the organization. He/she will determine if this data should be incorporated and if so will develop an plan to bring the data sources together in the most productive way possible. Once the plan is developed, this position will work independently with constituents to execute the plan.
The position will work manage the relationship with the vendor of the software product. This will include but is not limited to ensuring the correct data is being extracted and placed in the right data cubes to ensure accurate reporting identifying additional data that is required identifying where the data is located and how it would be best to compile it. This position will work on multiple projects associated with data management for the organization. The position will solicit data needs from our clinical department customers to identify information needs. He/she will then work with the disparate groups to gain consensus on what the group as a whole needs, develop plans to meet those needs and then execute those plans to ensure customer satisfaction. He/she will follow-up with customers to ensure their needs are met. The position will also convene meetings with departmental staff to brainstorm needs related to staff productivity. He/she will develop plans to meet these needs and execute those plans. He/she will assist in developing staff benchmarks for productivity and ultimately will be able to prepare staffing models.
The Data Analyst I positions at the UNC Health Foundation will dedicate their time to assisting with the strategic analysis and reporting of critical development data and information pulled from the University?s donor and alumni database. The Data Analyst will exercise a high level of creativity and quality control to ensure reports and data extracts convey comprehensive and complex information in an understandable and highly accurate manner. This position will also have one direct report and will be responsible for managing that position?s workload. Responsibilities will include:
Pulling data extracts needed for Development Officer progress reports and campaign reports.
Assisting with electronic screening projects, analysis of results and integration into Davie, the Blackbaud-based CRM.
Help to develop in-house reports to identify areas of success and opportunity and make recommendations to management.
Propose and manage data analysis projects including prospect identification projects to discover new potential donors. Manage the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of reports and dashboards in support of data-driven fundraising decisions.
Build capacity for sophisticated data visualization and analytics methods.
Identify potential transformational and major gift prospects using data mining and fundraising analytics
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Professional Experience Requirements:
If a Bachelor's Degree, requires no experience.
If an Associate's Degree, requires six (6) years of experience
If High School degree, requires ten (10) years of experience.
