Occupational Summary The Senior PMO Consultant plays a pivotal role in our organization, reporting directly to the Senior Director of the Project Management Office (PMO). Responsible for spearheading the strategic vision and oversight of our PMO, this role ensures strategic alignment across the enterprise and drives implementation expectations. This highly organized and visible role requires effective communication skills to drive enterprise strategic priorities and timelines across mission-critical programs. The Senior PMO Consultant sets best practices for governing all project portfolio management (PPM) maturity, collaborating with senior leaders to ensure smooth and effective program and project execution.
Work Performed
? Owner for the PMO Quality Management System, setting standards for project, program and portfolio management maturity, inclusive of cross-functional project teams, internal services delivered between teams, service-level objectives, and performance reporting ? Owner of the PMO Strategic roadmaps and driving adoption throughout the enterprise. ? Provide education and collaboration with other functional area leaders to help drive PMO adoption across the enterprise ? Partner with senior leaders to drive continual improvement of the project & service delivery processes ? Owner of project delivery tools and metrics necessary for enterprise project portfolio management ? Translate business strategy into functional/operational plans working closely with the PMO Sr. Director and Sr. Director of DHTS Strategy. ? Oversees resource capacity adoption ? Owner of regulatory compliance considerations and recommend development of new PMO processes to ensure adherence. ? Foster collaboration, strategic alignment, and integrated planning across multiple functions in a matrixed organization. ? Facilitate consensus among PMO stakeholders and organizational leadership to foster a project-management-oriented culture ? Collaborate closely with Sr. Director of PMO and Internal Communications to regularly update the organization on project progress through various communication channels ? Define, analyze, and monitor PMO key performance indicators to ensure project health and successful delivery ? Participate in hiring, mentoring, and developing project management professionals ? Support PMO Budget planning for the Sr Director of PMO. ? Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership and associated stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor. ? Champion new methodologies such as Agile and new product development frameworks. ? Participate in developing PMO Marketing and outreach activities across the enterprise ? Trusted advisor for PMO Processes, including project intake, Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Time Tracking, Reporting and Resource Management. ? Ensure adherence to project management methodology and governance standards. ? Provides support for PMO Process Manager with the governance and adoption of key processes ensuring effective project management practices across the organization ? Responsible for the identification and implementation of new revenue opportunities for the PMO Qualifications
Education/Training: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional) required ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certification required Prince, Agile, or equivalent certification preferred Lean Six Sigma or other process certification preferred
Required Experience: 8+ years leading in a Senior PMO function, with 10+ years of leadership experience. 5+ years of technical experience. Excellent business acumen, critical thinking, executive presence, verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. High emotional intelligence and organizational skills. Comfortable with ambiguity and willingness to embrace change. Strong experience in enterprise-wide initiatives and managing multiple projects concurrently. Strong analytical skills and the ability to define and measure program success metrics. Experience in the healthcare industry and familiarity with healthcare IT systems is a plus. Proven track record in coaching and mentoring others. Expert in Project/Program Management skills including: Estimating, Scope Management, Budget Management, Resource Management, Risk Management, Change Management, Issue/Conflict Resolution, Communication Management, Quality Management, Testing Plans, Training Plans, Team Management. Knowledge of ServiceNow Demand, PPM, and Time Tracking workflows and structure preferred.
