The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the University of Minnesota is seeking a board-certified/eligible Pediatric Cardiology Physician at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank.
Position Highlights:
- The Department / Division is seeking an individual with a strong interest in Pediatric Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Devices and Pediatric Heart Transplant who will join our Medical Director of Heart Failure/Transplant/VAD.
- Participate in pre-and post-transplant cardiac evaluation and treatment of cardiomyopathies and heart failure due to different etiologies.
- This position may include general pediatric cardiology care in/at University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital and/or outreach clinics in the metro area.
- Depending on expertise, the position may also participate in echocardiographic interpretation, and inpatient and outpatient service.
- Additional responsibilities will include: participation in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows and participation in service activities on behalf of the department, the medical school, and the candidate's profession.
- Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate's area of specialty/research experience with a goal of developing collaborative or independent, externally funded research.
About the Department:
Join our team of 20 Cardiologists dedicated to providing outstanding innovative pediatric heart care, education, and research. The Pediatric Heart Transplant program is over 35 years old with a long history of Pediatric Heart Transplants at the University of Minnesota. The program has grown exponentially in the last several years. As a result of the growth in the program, we are recruiting a second, Heart Failure/Transplant cardiologist. Our Heart Center utilizes a comprehensive team of CV intensivists, care coordinators, cardiologists, and surgeons--all within a true children's hospital setting, on a leading academic campus. We currently have 3 Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgeons with high-level of expertise in repairs of congenital heart defects, pediatric mechanical circulatory support, and pediatric heart transplants.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited ACGME Pediatric residency and Pediatric Cardiology fellowship training programs
- Board-certified/eligible in Pediatric Cardiology
- Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
- Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota
- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
- Ability to work in the United States
Pay and Benefits:
This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for this position is $240,000 -$362,541 commensurate with experience, qualifications, and cFTE. The salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired.
