General Description of the Job Class
This analyst position supports the DUHS Finance Business Intelligence (FBI) team, which focuses on providing timely and relatable financial insights to stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and performance management. The FBI also seeks to improve quality, accessibility, and responsiveness to customers through the implementation of technology tools that support integrated finance processes.
Responsibilities include assisting with the implementation and administration of an integrated finance platform (StrataJazz), building complex financial models for business development and growth opportunities, and communicating information through reports and dashboards, as well as PowerPoint presentations.
Duties and Responsibilities of this Level
Assist with implementation and administration of StrataJazz, including the operating budgeting, management reporting, labor productivity, and cost accounting modules.
Assist with the development of financial clinical close process, including system-wide service line profitability and KPI reporting package.
Provide support as needed for strategic growth projects, including development of financial proformas.
Support finance process redesign and change management related to financial platform (StrataJazz) implementation.
Financial and decision support data governance, including maintenance of standard volume and utilization definitions across the enterprise.
Assist DUHS entities and staff in effectively analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data and information to various parties both internal and external to Duke.
Draft financial presentations for strategic projects and business development opportunities.
Contribute towards the development of Strata and Tableau dashboards to clearly communicate financial insights through graphical visualizations and interactive controls.
Collaborate with team members across various departments to validate and document assumptions.
Various other Ad hoc financial analysis, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, BusinessAdministration or a related field. CPA is desirable.
Experience
Work requires a minimum of six years experience in financial management, cost accounting or a field directly related to specialized area of assignment. Excel, Cost Accounting Decision Support modules (EPSi, Strata, or equivalent), Hospital Finance experience highly preferred
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
CPA is highly preferred.
