This position is responsible for assisting our technologists with a mix of Microbiology assays including EIA, PCR, Culture, and Microscopy.
Department:Microbiology
Schedule: 2nd Shift,Tuesday - Saturday, 2:00 am - 10:30 pm. Required overtime, as business needs
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
Process culture and other samples according to SOP.
Clean work areas, dispose of samples and locate all samples needed for testing
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma
Previous experience is not required but given priority
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Able to work with urine, sputum, stool and body fluid
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
