Schedule: Part-Time, Days
Shift: M-F availability, 4-8hrs per day, pre-scheduled, depending on needs.

The role you’ll contribute:
The Standardized Patient supports the Medical Simulation and Training department in creating realistic scenario environments for all simulation and training activities across the AdventHealth Orlando system, which incorporates all campuses, service lines and departments (both clinical and non-clinical) and associated programs/partners, including all Graduate Medical Education programs and all AdventHealth University academic programs. Portrays a patient or participant with a specific background, symptoms, and/or signs according to a given script. Interacts with staff involved in training exercises to enhance realism and team training. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

·Memorizes and recalls specific details from a script including emotions, behaviors, medical history disease signs/symptoms
·Portrays conditions and details from scripts through acting as a patient or participant during simulation and training events
·Consistently demonstrates reliability on assignments and flexibility with scheduling as needed
·Establishes relationships with campus educators and designated personnel. Positively represents the Medical Simulation and Training department through interpersonal connections with staff and professional presentation
·Routinely accepts/provides feedback from/to educators or designated instructors and applies it to case scenarios
·Remains comfortable and willing to be physically examined in simulated patient scenarios; willingness to be recorded (audio/visual) during simulations
·Accepts application of latex based moulage (makeup, simulated wounds, etc.) and wear hospital gowns/attire as needed
·May, in collaboration with supervisor, facilitate preparation and execution of educational/department programs, projects and daily activities. Maintains par level of program supplies, manuals, etc
·May provide periodic administrative support to supervisor, including, but not limited to, meeting/event minutes, preparing check requests and payment authorizations, preparing performance evaluations, program time and attendance, and filing and maintaining records
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
·Effective, professional communicator with strong interpersonal skills. Able to communicate effectively to all levels of staff while participating in simulations, to include verbal, non-verbal and written
·Ability to practice elevated levels of confidentiality before, during, and after interactions with various learners
·Ability to follow exact instructions, ensuring simulation standardization and integrity.
·Ability to read and memorize scripts
·Proven ability to give and receive feedback to ensure training events meet or exceed expectations
·Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to address time-sensitive issues while meeting deadlines
·Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with a wide variety of individuals
·Basic experience with computer operation and desktop applications, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
·High School graduate or equivalent
