The Division of Hematology/Oncology at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, seeks a full time, board eligible/board certified pediatric hematologist/oncologist with an interest in benign hematology to join the existing division of 19 faculty, 7 fellows and 11 advanced practice providers.
We are seeking a qualified candidate with experience and interest in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with benign hematology conditions. Experience in research and programmatic development would be of interest as we seek to develop our programs within benign hematology. Responsibilities include clinical care, teaching, and participation in clinical research. The candidate will be an integral and interactive member of the Division of Hematology/Oncology/BMT in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and participate in inpatient and outpatient management of hematology patients.
Our Center is the major referral center in the Southwestern region with approximately 1500 new hematology patients per year. We currently have a large hematology patient population with close to 550 congenital bleeding disorder patients followed at our federally-funded Hemophilia Treatment Center, over 325 sickle cell/thalassemia patients, and close to 150 new thrombosis patients per year. We currently have multi-disciplinary clinics for hemophilia and other congenital bleeding disorders, immunohematology, neurovascular diseases, sickle cell/thalassemia, and other chronically transfused patients with various diagnoses including bone marrow failure and RBC enzyme deficiencies.
The hematology team is a multidisciplinary team, committed to providing state-of-the-art care to the patients of the Southwest. We also have active clinical and laboratory research programs, and multiple open clinical trials. This is a growing population, and we are looking for someone who desires to continue to expand and develop this program.
The successful candidate must be board certified in pediatric hematology-oncology and have an interest in hematology. Applicants should have the ability to work with teams on patient focused, division-centric, and hospital wide initiatives.
