School of Nursing Faculty Position – Applied Quantitative Methodologist

The School of Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications and nominations for a full time Applied Quantitative Methodologist faculty position to teach applied quantitative methods and statistics courses in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing programs and provide methodological support in the design and implementation of DNP projects.

Candidates with an interest in making an impact through teaching in the health sciences and with expertise in quantitative analysis or applied statistics are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include collaborating on development of manuscripts and presentations, participating on DNP and PhD committees, mentoring students and trainees, providing consultation in quantitative methods to faculty and trainees, providing support to funded projects, and participating in academic service activities. A minimum of a doctoral degree and at least 12 credit hours of graduate-level quantitative methods or statistics courses are required. A background in applied quantitative analysis in nursing or health sciences, applied statistics, data science, epidemiology, quantitative psychology, public health, health administration, medical sociology, education, or related disciplines is preferred. Salary is competitive and commensurate with professional background and experience. This is not a remote position.

The School also is home to state-of-the-art nursing simulation and skills laboratories with some of the most current technology in health care, providing interdisciplinary students, and faculty, hands-on clinical learning experiences to enhance skills development, teamwork, communication, critical thinking and clinical judgment.
