The Exercise Specialist (ES) is a professional involved in group exercise leadership. Using a variety of teaching techniques, the ES is proficient in leading and demonstrating safe and effective methods of exercise by applying the fundamental principles of exercise. The ES is familiar with all forms of group exercise including traditional low, high, mixed, and step aerobics; interval, circuit, muscle conditioning, and flexibility training. Performs cardiac rehabilitation functions as needed to facilitate patient cardiac fitness. Participates in process of assisting the patient with cardiac risk factor reduction.

X Bachelor?s degree X Required
X Graduate of a Program in Exercise Science or related field X Required
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
X Basic Life Support (BLS)
X Telemetry certified within one (1) year of hire
X Nationally recognized fitness certification within one (1) year of hire
One (1) year experience in the field.
