This position in 100% on-site, located in Plano, TX.
Coordinates the activities of Medical Staff Services in assisting the Medical Staff to perform the functions required in Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, JCAHO standards and all other accreditation and licensing agencies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Implements new programs, as indicated, to effectively meet the needs of the Medical Staff.
Helps the Medical Staff with annual review of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations.
Diligently monitors credentialing function to ensure compliance with Bylaws, State and Federal regulations.
Communicates effectively with members of the Medical Staff, other medical professionals, hospital staff, legal counsel, and community contacts.
Attends Credentials Committee and Executive Committee meetings of the Medical Staff and records minutes of the proceedings.
Helps with the development, planning, and implementation of credentialing/privileging process.
Tracks clinical privileges of medical staff and allied health staff and helps in development of privilege criteria.
Monitors the focused professional practice evaluation process for new medical staff members and for newly granted clinical privileges.
Ensures that all documents that have to be renewed are reviewed, obtained and managed on a monthly basis.
Participates in Quality Improvement activities.
Maintains confidential credentials files, electronic medical staff database, and medical staff correspondence.
Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous way.
Acts as liaison between staff and management, and acts on behalf of management in the absence of such.
Provides training and acts as a mentor for staff.

Commitment to continuous learning and keeping abreast in the Medical Staff Services industry.
Experience in database management, medical staff and/or credentialing services required.
Excellent organizational skills, work management skills, and proficiency in working with computerized databases required.
Associates degree preferred.
Medical staff services experience required (2-3 years).
Certification by National Association of Medical Staff Services (CPMSM or CPCS) or eligible for certification within two years of hire preferred.
MD Staff software experience preferred.
Management experience preferred.
