SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This role will serve as a key collaborator with PICU leadership and will lead patient care initiatives that are evidenced based and patient-family centered. The manager will identify, interpret, and spearhead the implementation of appropriate policies/procedures, clinical decision tools, data collection tools, national clinical care guidelines, literature, and research to promote standard and evidence-based practice.
Key responsibilities will include:
Use LEAN principles to develop and leverage human, environmental, and material resources
Collaborate with Nursing Education and Professional Development staff to assess the learning needs of nursing staff and students and design and participate in educational programs.
Implement principles of mass customization and standardization to ensure consistency of care
Accountable for identification, collection, evaluation and improvement of point-of-care outcomes.
Foster compliance with patient care and organizational standards and regulatory mandates set by The Joint Commission (TJC) Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other agencies/regulations.
Assist staff to provide fiscally responsible care and utilization of resources.
Identify and interpret pertinent findings from published research and assist nurses in understanding implications for clinical practice and incorporate changes in their practice.
Utilizing Pediatric Virtual Systems, design data collection tools and assist nursing staff in completing pre-existing tools to monitor patient outcomes and efficiency and effectiveness of care.
Promote individual staff development to include clinical ladder, advanced degrees and certification. Serve as a mentor/coach to staff advancing their professional education and development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master?s degree in Nursing
Five (5) years of related experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
LEAN certification*Training will be required upon hire
