The role you’ll contribute:
The Health Assistant, under close supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This may include safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for patient intake process, obtaining vital signs, reviewing patient record to update quality metrics and close care gaps. May also be responsible for duties such as equipment sterilization, equipment maintenance, and following up on messages. Performs office duties as needed; which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting copays, assisting with incoming calls and scheduling necessary appointments.

Front Office Duties:
Demonstrates through behavior AdventHealth's Service Standards of Know Me, Love Me, Make it Easy and Keep Me Safe.
Drives customer service initiatives by creating and owning the patient experience
May complete vitals after successful completion of competency validation.
Performs chart prep for patients by searching for imaging or referral reports from other facilities.
Able to document allergies, problems with vital signs after competency validation
Responds appropriately in clinical emergencies and triage situations under the supervision of the provider.
Participates in disinfection of common areas as assigned and readies exam rooms for patients by following disinfection guidelines
Appropriately complete check-out duties to set up appointments for next visit
Assists with scheduling and prior authorization of stat referrals and/or orders.
Reviews and responds to patient and staff messages (voicemail, email, portal) as directed by the provider
Performs required quality checklists to ensure safety of the patient
Follows CDC guidelines, infection prevention practices, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand washing according to policy and follows safety regulations.
Responsible for stocking of exam rooms and inventory of supplies
Assists in cleaning, disinfecting and sterilization of instruments according to AHMG policy.
Performs routine maintenance on equipment such as the autoclave.
Participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives
Performs duties within the scope of the Health Assistant as needed by the provider to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
High School diploma
Experience in customer service
CPR certification
Preferred qualifications:
EMT student
Phlebotomist student
CNA
