Summary

Full time opportunity for APP to join experienced and busy radiation oncology practice in beautiful northern Michigan. Candidate will collaborate with physician on new patient consults, conduct most short and long term follow-ups and be the primary provider on symptom management during radiation course. Candidates preferred with some level of experience in cancer care, pain management or general internal medicine. Traditional Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM schedule. No call requirements.

• Direct patient care of patients with a wide spectrum of oncologic diseases serving both outpatient and inpatient.
• Perform history and physicals, ordering of diagnostic studies, prescribe medications, interaction and direct communication with referring physicians with collaboration and direct reporting of patient information to the medical staff.
• Coordinate care with other disciplines, build strong collaborative relationships across the organization as many radiation oncology patients require long-term follow-up.
• Direct care and management in the outpatient setting would include: initiation of evaluation, patient and family education, counseling and support, collaboration with and referrals to other health care providers, and provision of education to nursing staff, students, and the community.
• Review laboratory, pathology and radiographic tests results and interface with medical staff and patients regarding test results and plan of care.
• Work collaboratively with NP/PA colleagues in the provision of care for this patient population including covering for colleagues as needed.

• AHA approved BLS certification
• Active State of Michigan license and CSL or eligible to apply
• DEA registration required or eligible to apply

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
• Experience preferred (cancer care, pain mgmt. or internal medicine experience)
