University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join our Plastic Surgery practice.
In This Role, You Will:
University of Minnesota Physicians seeks an enthusiastic, independent Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for the Plastic Surgery practice at the M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center.
Our plastic surgery patient care team provides a range of services including general plastics, wound care, and comprehensive gender care.
Practice Details:
- Provide comprehensive Plastic Surgery care for patients at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, M Health Clinics and Surgery Center and M Health Maple Grove Clinic with potential need for other metro locations in the future.
- Work closely with academic Plastic Surgeons and two other Advanced Practice Providers
- Flex with a split inpatient 50% and outpatient 50% role (approximately)
- Assist in the operating room, inpatient rounding, and discharge planning
- Deliver excellent patient care in the ambulatory setting to new consults, returning patients and surgical follow-ups.
- Treat both pediatric and adult populations
- Work closely with the multiple aspects of gender care
- Candidate will work Monday thru Friday, daytime schedule. Currently no plan for weekends or call but may be possible in the future.
- 1.0 FTE (full time)
Preferred Qualifications:
- High level of independence, assessing and evaluating surgery patients, clinic patients and consults. This includes, but is not limited to, patient history, physical examination; delineate problems and record and present data to staff MD.
- Previous inpatient, outpatient and surgical experience.
- Previous experience with transgender care
- Experience working independently, answering patient and referring physician phone calls.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Nurse Practitioner training program (appropriate for both pediatric and adult populations) with First Assist training or a graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program.
- Current MN RN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges or a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice.
- Certified through ANCC/AANP or eligible for ANCC/AANP national exam or through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
- Skills and Abilities Required: Team player, collaborative and well organized, able to prioritize, and effective communicator, thorough with administrative and clinical documentation, technically proficient.
- Nurse Practitioner candidates are required to have RN First Assist training.
- A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.
- Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
- Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP's).
- Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.

The full-time salary range is $128,259 - $158,160 commensurate with practice experience and may also include incentive compensation or additional specialty-specific compensation components. Salary prorated based on FTE.
