About Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Organization
Pursue your passion for caring with the Patient Revenue Management Organization, which is Duke Health's fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization that supports the entire health system in streamlining the revenue cycle. This includes scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions.

OccSummary
Coordinate and participate in a variety of duties ass ociated withdaily clinic preparation process, patient identification, pa tient checkin/out, charge posting, cash management and patient appointme ntscheduling. Position also involves customer service, messagedistributi on, ancillary scheduling and preparation and referralsmanagement.
Work Performed
Prepare for clinic visits by reviewing next day patients andcompleting next day preparation activities. Enter pre-v isit orders andprepare new patient charts. Pick up X-rays, office charts ,medicalrecords, reports, petty cash and collections bag. File history s heets,ancillary reports and all other required patient record documentat ion.Return medical records. Attach HIPPA/Medicare documents to theencoun ter forms.Check-in patient upon arrival in the practice. Identify corre ct patientinformation in Maestro Care. Verify patient demographic data. EditMaestro Care as needed. Accurately identify the appropriate accountf or patient visit. Present and educate patients on required forms andobta in signature as required by policy and procedure. Completes allMaestro C are check-in files and manage all appropriate alerts. Collectand post co -payments and balances on accounts due. Imprint all patientspecific char tdocuments and requisition/transmittal documents. Copy,file and distribu te insurance cards as indicated by procedure.Coordinate all labs/procedu res as requested. Maintain private physicianoffice charts.Prepare encoun ter forms. Investigate and account for missing encounterforms. Audit enc ounter forms for completeness and accuracy beforebatching. Batches encou nter forms or charge posting in Maestro Care.Schedule tests and procedur es. Complete and distributeancillary service requisitions.Explain billin g to patientsaccording to PRMO credit and collection policies. Determine the amountof cash to be collected based on insurance plan.Check-outpatip ointment type, entering the primary care physician orreferring physiciae nts. Make return appointments by scheduling patients into thecorrect apn and scheduling tests and procedures.Answer telephone, take and deliverm essages to physicians, nurses andothers. Report obtained medical informa tion from patients and referringphysicians accurately, completely andtim ely. Disseminate messagesaccording to practice communication standards p>
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong verbal andwrit ten communication. Basic PC and data entryskills. Knowledge of medical t erminology and telephone etiquette.Demonstrated ability to organizeand p rioritize work, provide oral andwritten instructions, interact tactfully with customers and establishand maintain effective relationships with o thers. Must be able to applyspecific departmental policies rules and reg ulations relating toverifying patient information, collecting paymentsa nd maintainingrecords and forms.
