PIH Health developed a Work Embedded Program in partnership with MedCerts, a six-month online certification program, to train a group of PIH Health employees to become Medical Assistants (MA). To ensure the success of this program, PIH Health Physicians (PHP) will employ an LVN Clinical Educator who will perform as a nursing instructor and work full-time to manage all student program activities.
The candidate for this role must possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to work closely with clinic leadership and MedCerts program instructors to provide the best educational experience for the student body. In this position, the teaching assignment will include clinical instructions in a live environment with direct and indirect patient contact, including instruction in the Simulation Skills Lab. The candidate must be able to teach various subjects across the MA curriculum. Strong clinical teaching skills are a must. Responsibilities will include managing a group of MA students in a clinical setting while developing both soft and technical skills needed to succeed in the workplace. Assess learning gaps, develop education material to meet learning needs, advise students, mentor, participate in department and committees, and meet regularly with assigned clinic leadership.
The Nursing Instructor's responsibilities for the MedCerts MA program are post-online learning completion (after the six-month course completion). This position will work as a PHP Clinical educator when clinical internship hours are not in session.
