Unit Highlights:
The Cardiothoracic PCU provides uncommon compassion and exceptional care to patients receiving advanced minimally invasive cardiothoracic procedures as well as plastic reconstructive surgeries. Following ERAS protocols, this team is dedicated to the best outcomes for our patients.
Utilizing bedside led focus groups for process change and any staff or patient focused project, there is always opportunity to grow and challenge yourself on WT8!

Patient care model: Registered Nurses & Patient Care Technicians/Nurse Technicians • Ratios: 3:1 patients per 1 RN for flaps x12 hrs 4-5 patients per 1 RN based on acuity & 8-12 patients per 1 PCT/NT based on acuity.

With routine thoracic surgery education and frequent plastic surgery in-services, these teams work together seamlessly to deliver excellent care and elevate practice.
Surgeries You May See: -Thoracotomy -Ivor Lewis, -DIEP flaps -Free flaps, -Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgeries, -Intraoral flap and mandibular reconstruction.

The role you’ll contribute:
The ANM is a registered professional nurse who supports the Nurse Manager or Director in overall operations of their assigned unit. Is able to demonstrate critical thinking skills, creativity, and has the knowledge to manage resources to achieve quality performance, positive employee relations, and compliance with hospital guidelines. The ANM is skilled in coaching, mentoring, and leading a professional and technical team in the delivery of services to our patient population. The ANM assures quality of care is delivered to our patients and demonstrates effective stewardship of scarce resources. Is supportive of change activities on their unit and works to assure implementation of change that may occur. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
Associate’s degree or Diploma in Nursing
Specific experience as delineated by the unit of employment
Current valid State of Florida or multistate license as a Registered Nurse
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Advanced Life Support Certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) per specialty/unit requirements
EKG competency
Preferred qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree of Nursing (BSN) or Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN)
Professional Certification
