Responsible for the financial and analytical support of the operating and capital budgets and the financial analysis of hospital operations. Provides assistance to management in operational areas by developing new reports and analyses, providing a greater level of understanding of existing reports, and integrating their use into the decision-making process. Support and promote the use and understanding of other management systems such as Meditech, HPM and Vision ware as appropriate. Generates financial projections and proformas, performs financial/operational analysis and also provides explanations of actual versus budget. Generates business plans/proformas and service line profitability analysis.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a core member of the overall Financial Analysis team.
Work under the supervision of the Budget & Financial Analysis Manager to develop and maintain cost standards. Includes assistance to department heads in developing cost and labor standards.
Responsible for reviewing and testing the reasonableness of cost standards developed. Work with department heads to resolve variance issues that arise.
Assist in the development, recommendation and maintenance of overhead cost allocations.
Develop business plans/proformas for all hospital entities.
Assure reports are run as scheduled, reports are distributed, and report inquiries are handled. In addition, develops ad hoc reports on as needed basis.
Assists with data requests from hospital personnel using the ad hoc report writing function, HPM System.
Propose policy and procedures and updates that might be necessary to assure data integrity going into the organization?s system.
Share in the overall responsibility for the integrity of the data contained in the HPM databases.
Assist in the preparation and review of the budget. Works with Department Heads to develop and review cost center level budgets.
Conduct statistical analysis of utilization information provided for use in the budget.
Coordinate the preparation of the departmental operating budgets.
Coordinate development of Year End Operating projections and other projection periods.
Maintain the confidentiality of data of the Corporation.
Demonstrates adherence to the CORE Values of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health Care.
Train managers on Financial Concepts, MORs etc. as requested.
Responsible for maintaining the NACHRI database.
Attend manager meetings to assist in Monthly Operating Reviews and other meetings as required.

Appropriately adapts assigned assessment, treatment, and/or service methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific and other developmental needs of each member served.
Takes personal responsibility to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and standards as promulgated by state and federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.
Performs all duties in a manner that protects the confidentiality of patients and does not solicit or disclose any confidential information unless it is necessary in the performance of assigned job duties.
Requirements:
Education:
Must be a college graduate with a Business Administration Degree with a major in Accounting. Course work in cost accounting is required.
Graduate degree or CPA preferred.
Experience:
Must possess a thorough knowledge of hospital operations, hospital budgeting, cost accounting as well as accounting principles and practices gained through experience in a large hospital or medical center, CPA experience or through graduate studies.
Three to five years hospital financial/operational experience and cost accounting experience are required. Knowledge of automated systems is required.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
CPA Preferred.
