This role, reporting to BJC Medical Group of Missouri does work collaboratively with the BJC HealthCare Legal Team.
Preferred candidates bring a background in healthcare expertise or knowledge of contract law, specifically in leasing, property management, or related fields. Weekly contract committee meetings bring together attorneys, operational, HR, and finance professionals for a collective review and processing of documents.
This position calls for a proactive approach, involving independent document request and review, showcasing a self-starting attitude, and active engagement in creative problem-solving through relevant inquiries. It presents a valuable learning curve for individuals seeking to enhance their skills in a dynamic environment.

The Operations Department provides support to the strategic and operational objectives of BJC Medical Group practices and is located in Town & Country.
Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
Performs required legal tasks, including: conducting legal research, drafting legal documents; managing and coordinating legal documents, claims, responses, filings and applications; conducting investigations; preparing case files and managing data bases. Provides interpretation and assistance to BJC health services organizations regarding legal matters.
Responsibilities
Provides regulatory advice and interpretation relating to internal and external rules, regulations and policies and with respect to legal and supporting documents. Drafts documents (contracts, agreements, responses to claims, memoranda, corporate resolutions, bylaws, etc.) and prepares for required approvals.
Conducts internal investigations and coordinates with governmental agency offices in order to obtain and comply with specific information requests. Prepares investigation summary reports and the initial response to other legal requests i.e. subpoenas, discovery requests.
Designs and maintains databases to support claims management and/or corporate information and recordkeeping as well as officer and director information for system wide clients and related groups. (Hospitals, service organizations, leadership, Board, etc.)
Analyzes documents and records, including pleadings and recommendations from counsel to determine case merit and assess potential risk.
With supervision, manages claims and administrative processes.
