SUMMARY OF POSITION:
**Onsite Position**
Responsible for accepting incoming referral information via multimedia and working directly with bed management and direct care nursing to coordinate inpatient bed assignments (particularly critically ill) for patients at Penn State Hershey Medical. Coordinates, prioritizes, and optimizes patient flow using knowledge of clinical and operational activities throughout the hospital network.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master's degree in Nursing required. 3 years Critical Care Nursing experience required Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Strong critical thinking, accurate assessment, and problem solving skills required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Attentiveness to detail is required. High-level analytical ability required in order to resolve complex patient flow issues. Interpersonal skills required. Knowledge in nursing concepts, practices, and procedures required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5 years Critical Care Nursing experience preferred.
