At Labcorp in Eye, Suffolk we are looking to recruit a Senior Laboratory Scientist to join our expanding Physico Chemical Testing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside other experienced scientists in an established physico-chemical testing laboratory whilst receiving ongoing training in the laboratory methods and techniques required to evaluate the individual properties of a chemical.
Job responsibilities include:
Trains and directs less experienced laboratory personnel by in developing and implementing training plans
Able to review work of others for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness and soundness of technical judgement
Sets up and performs a variety of studies/analyses using appropriate instrumentation with routine and non-routine methods
Ability to conduct most processes/tasks in support of broad portfolio of study types
Critically review study documentation and suggest changes where appropriate
Provides input and participates in study meetings (ie pre-initiation meeting)
Reviews own work for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment
Deliver results within agreed timeframes, whilst recognising changes in priorities.
Ability to write, review and revise standard SOPs
Ability to prepare results and presentations based on the work performed
Participate in internal method development projects, as appropriate
Act as the department process owner as required

Education:
BSc in Chemistry or related subject
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Experienced in the use of standard laboratory equipment within Physico Chemistry testing
Some experience of training team members
Proficiency with I.T and computer software packages such as Excel
Good numeracy
Organised and self-motivated with the ability to use own initiative
Experience of HPLC or GC detection techniques would be advantageous
Strong knowledge of GLP
