Our newest hospital in the Kansas City metro area — AdventHealth Lenexa City Center — will include around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services and inpatient beds for medical-surgical and short-stay units.
The new campus will include:
244,000 square feet
Capacity for 98 total beds (44 on opening and 54 slated for future expansion)
Four operating rooms (two upon opening and two slated for future dates)
Cardiovascular Manager has 24-hour accountability, authority and responsibility for the quality of services, operational management and human resources management to support all cardiovascular in Cardiology Diagnostics and Cardiovascular Catheterization at AdventHealth South Overland Park (SOP). The Cardiovascular manager fosters collaboration and a team environment with and between AdventHealth South Overland Park and AdventHealth Shawnee Mission (AHSM) Cath lab, PCVU, Cardiology diagnostics, surgery, and ancillary departments. The manager fosters the integration of the organization’s vision and values and accomplishes the mission and strategic plan through an accountable work team. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Manager collaborates with patients/customers, families, physicians, administration, and associates to exceed customer expectations in a patient focused, healing environment. The Manager will have a broad understanding and strong knowledge of procedures in the cardiac cath lab and cardiology diagnostic departments. The Manager will also have a strong understanding of department procedural requirements, equipment and staff, exercising professional judgment in performance of services and maintaining a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Major functions of the Invasive/Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Manager SOP are applying critical thinking skills and judgment in planning, problem solving and decision making related to operational flow, staffing of each of the cardiovascular procedural areas to meet patient needs. In addition, the manager facilitates communications between individual associates, other stakeholder departments, teams, physicians and the Executive Director of the Heart and Vascular service line, as well as other Medical Center personnel; The manager has and maintains clinical knowledge and skill to serve in situations in direct patient care as needed. The Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of department policies and procedures, budget planning & accountability, comprehensive education and core competency for the cath lab and cardiology diagnostics staff, including maintenance of staffing and scheduling management, department customer loyalty excellence, quality improvement outcomes and employee engagement. The CV manager will work in a collaborative effort with supply chain, finance and leadership to capture lost revenues and patient charges. The manager will report directly to the Executive Director of the Heart and Vascular Service Line. The manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the cardiac services at South Overland Park in collaboration with the AHSM cath lab and cardiology diagnostic managers and Cardiovascular Service Line Executive Director. The Coordinator participates in the hiring of new staff and the daily management of current staff under the direction of the CV Service Line Executive Director. The Coordinator participates in the process for any and all other certification and accreditations within the cardiac service line. The Coordinator participates in the evaluation process of the team. The Coordinator conducts all business with professionalism and will model the service standards and mission of the facility.

· Works collaboratively with physician clinic, patient needs, central scheduling, Surgery, anesthesia and other key stakeholders to ensure a positive scheduling process experience.
· Facilitates efficient throughput and turn-around times.
· Ensures availability of Cardiology procedures in a timely fashion for optimum patient care and services.
· Assists with new programs to continue growth and development of CV services.
· Assists Director in communication of time sensitive messages and issues to staff.
· Assists in capturing lost revenues.
· As a Technologist or registered nurse meets respective required cath lab and/or cardiology diagnostic competencies; For example: Assists in cardiology diagnostic and/or cath lab charge role, monitoring, circulating and/or scrubs in and assists physicians when necessary, participates in emergency call if needed and performs other related duties as requested.
· Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action.

· Ensures cardiology diagnostic and cath lab staff education/training for all cardiovascular procedures continually reassesses staff by core competency testing and maintains documentation of such.
· Works closely with Cardiology Director, physicians and peers in maintaining Quality Improvement and the development and maintenance of departmental Policy and Procedure Manuals.
· Collaborates with Director, AHSM Cardiology Managers, surgery manager, cardiovascular clinic leadership and team leaders to review/discuss pertinent issues and strategy regarding staffing, patient care, equipment and supplies, and policies and procedures.
· Facilitates consistency, development, and follow-up for implementation of staff cross-orientation/cross functional training.

· Ensures implementation and maintenance of Quality Assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
· Assumes responsibility for daily operations in the Cardiac Cath Lab and cardiology diagnostic depts at AHSOP
· Conducts thorough analysis of projects by assessing needs, expectations, supporting data, and develops implementation plan in collaboration with team members.
· Facilitates and encourages personal development of each staff member.
· Ensures orientation of new associates.

· Assists Executive Director in maintaining and developing new relationships with vendors to assist with negotiating price and supply of products for delivery of care in these departments.

· Collaboratively coordinates staffing for non-invasive and invasive cardiology on a daily basis with CV Service line leaders
· Is a working manager who participates in the care of patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures
· Demonstrates knowledge and expertise in hemodynamics of the cardiac patient peri-procedure and ensures appropriate notification to cardiologist
· Responsible for supplies and equipment related to the Cardiac Services including ordering and evaluation of products necessary to maintain and grow the service line in collaboration with the Director of the Cardiovascular Service line
· Directly responsible for working with nursing, physicians, cardiologists and anesthesia to ensure physician satisfaction and quality patient experience
· Responsible for organizing, staffing, supervising, and evaluating the daily operation of invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular services at South Overland Park campus including processing timesheet correction forms and staffing schedules.
· Acts as a preceptor and role model of employees
· Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes
· Is a role model and provides education to patient and patient family regarding care pre/intra/post procedure
· Communicates with the team and the cardiologists to maintain patient flow through the cath lab and non-invasive cardiology department ensuring patient safety.
· Works collaboratively to ensure the schedule is appropriate for staffing levels.
· Participate in meetings for efficient facility function including but not limited to quality, patient safety, patient experience, safety huddles, productivity, and budgetary.
· Focus on maintaining budgetary guidelines and working within productivity standards
· Collaborates with staff and CV leadership team on process improvement projects.
· Performs annual staff evaluation process.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
· EKG Competency
· Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics..
· Follows and leads departmental policies and procedures.
· Experience with Windows operating system.
· Collaborates with the Quality department and CV leadership to achieve and maintain all required registry metrics.
· Ensures personnel licenses to perform all positions for cath lab and cardiology diagnostic procedures
· Ensures appropriate operation of x-ray equipment. Knowledge of placing service calls.
· Able to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff.
· Has knowledge of all equipment in Cardiac Cath lab and non-invasive cardiology.
· Assists in patient flow through the Invasive Cardiology and non-invasive cardiology areas
· Assists in training new employees.
· Performs properly and legibly documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policies.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
· Knowledge of supplies/QSite, and billing/coding for the Cardiac Cath lab and non-invasive cardiology.
· Has knowledge of all equipment in various Invasive Cardiology labs and non-invasive cardiology as required by Kansas State regulations per appropriate license (RN/Rad Tech).
· Assures correct operation of x-ray equipment in line with Kansas State Regulations. Knowledge of placing service calls.
· 2-3 years cardiology, non-invasive cardiology, and/or cath lab experience
· Experience in scrubbing diagnostic and interventional cath procedures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• RN BSN Degree, Bachelor’s degree or higher
OR
• RN, OR Cardiovascular tech OR Cardiovascular invasive specialist OR Rad tech or Echo Tech
• ACLS & BLS – Must have ACLS within 6 months of hire
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· Understanding of hemodynamic monitoring
· EKG training
· 2 years’ experience in Cardiac Cath or non-invasive Cardiology
· 2 years’ leadership experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Licensed registered nurse, OR Advanced certification as CCRN (critical care registered nurse) OR RCIS (registered cardiovascular invasive specialist) OR CVT (cardiovascular tech)
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
Advanced certification as CCRN (critical care registered nurse), RCIS (registered cardiovascular invasive specialist), CVT (cardiovascular tech)
