SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Assistant Director of Advanced Practice is responsible to provide guidance in their respective discipline and domain of practice; Advanced Practice Nurse (NPs, CNMs, & CNSs), Physician Assistant, or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. In collaboration with the Director of Advanced Practice, the Assistant Director will develop and support a model of Advanced Practice that ensures delivery of high quality, cost effective care, serve as a resource for departmental utilization of Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs) assuring innovative practice, quality standards and outcomes for both inpatient and ambulatory services; serve as an expert resource for requirements related to licensure, bylaws and credentialing, regulatory, and practice issues for all APCs; and provide oversight of recruitment and retention, orientation, and professional development. Maintain a 30% commitment to support management responsibilities and 70% commitment to provide direct patient care as an active Advanced Practice Clinician.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Master?s degree
Five (5) years of related experience
Two (2) years of management experience
Currently licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner, Midwife, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Anesthetist by State of employment
Basic Life Support(BLS)
