The role you’ll contribute: The Medical Assistant, under general supervision, provides appropriate care to patients as well as follows AdventHealth service standards. This includes safely and effectively greeting patients, obtaining clinical information, financial and demographic information. Responsible for assisting providers during treatment and examination and may assist with procedures and medication administration as ordered by the provider. Performs office duties as needed, which includes but is not limited to, verifying insurance, collecting copays, and scheduling necessary appointments.

·Assist with screenings per physician orders and enters all information accurately and at the time of service or results
·Performs clinical intake according to AHMG policy and procedures
·May be responsible for assisting with minor procedures associated with specialty
·May be required to travel as needed to fulfill staffing needs

·Must maintain education requirements for position and demonstrate competency, as required
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
·Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
·1 Years of practical medical assisting experience AND one of the medical assistant certifications listed below:
oCertified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA
oNational Affordable Housing Professional (NAHP)
oNational Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)-NCTT
oAmerican Medical Certification Association (“AMCA”) for Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC)
oAmerican Medical Technologists (“AMT”) for Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
oAmerican Registry of Medical Assistants (“ARMA”)
·OR Graduate of a medical assisting program in lieu of experience
·BCLS - Basic Life Support
·Experience with computers
