Job Summary:
The Director of Student Experience advocates and coordinates AHU efforts to promote student success, persistence, and graduation, to achieve and sustain retention goals and graduation rates. The Director of Student Experience uses retention expertise in combination with
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Serves as an expert in student success and retention practices, staying up to date on best practices in the field, creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures for the Student Experience department
- Facilitates the monitoring and analysis of student success and retention data to assess gaps in learning achievement; collaborates with faculty and staff on developing a course of action/intervention for issues identified during the data analysis process
- Track retention and student success metrics to coordinate the priorities and activities of the department, assisting with the creation of outreach strategies and workflow accountability
- In collaboration with Institutional Research and other stakeholders, develop, implement, and maintain common definitions for graduation rates, retention rates, and other data required to support programmatic and institutional accreditation and assessment
- Analyzes trends related to at risk students and works cross-functionally within AHU leadership to aid in the development of preventive, remedial, and supportive programs
What Will You Need:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in higher education or related field
- Must possess a general knowledge of the higher education market, Adventist education, and the duties and initiatives that drive enrollment and progression
- Proven ability to influence change, coach and motivate students and an understanding of the needs and challenges faced by adult learners
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises all Student Experience Managers, including Online Student Experience Manager(s), Graduate Student Experience Manager(s), Undergraduate Student Experience Manager(s), and Denver Campus Student Experience Manager(s).
- Supervises Student Relations Specialist(s)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Master’s Degree in higher education or related field
- Three to five years of leadership experience
- Three or more years of higher education experience
