Occ Summary
Perform a variety of nonprofessional nursing d in administeringroutine and special treatments to patientsWorking knowle uties in the direct careof patients under the direct supervision of a RN /LPN. Perform taskswithin the scope of a nursing care assistant I and I I as defined by theNC Board of Nursing.
Work Performed
< p>In addition to duties outlined in NAI job description, the followingdu ties may be performed: sterile dressing change for wounds over 48hourso ldand wound irrigation; IV fluid assistance activities;oral/nasogastricf eeding; urinary catheterization and irrigation; oxygentherapy, including room set-up and monitoring flow-rate; break up andremoval of fecal impac tion; oropharyngeal and nasopharyngealsuctioning; tracheotomy care; ost omy care, irrigation and annual skillsvalidation.Participate in own prof essional development by maintaining requiredskills validation and attend ing educational offerings. Support thedevelopment of other staff and for mal learners.Perform other related duties incidental to the work describ ed herein.

Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant I (NA I) with the Division ofFacility Services with no substantiated fi ndings of abuse, fraud,neglect or misappropriation of property.BCLS cert ification must be maintained/completed by the end of new hireorientation , which typically takes place during the first week ofemployment.
