Managerial and Leadership duties and responsibilities
Responsible for driving overall performance and delivery of front-line Medical Technical Requests (Requests to Medical Affairs).
Responsible for global administrative management of the team.
Responsible for providing global leadership of incoming questions from internal customers and external customers (sponsors and investigator sites) via triage by either answering questions or assigning the right medical/technical/scientific/regulatory resource to answer questions from Sales, Project Management (SDL, RSC, GSM), Data Management, Investigator Services.
Responsible for the quality performances of all services related to Medical Technical Requests Triage.
Responsible for meeting regulatory requirements including but not limited to SOPs, training files, etc.
Responsible for meeting and reporting established quality measures and on-time responses to quality events.
Strategy and Business Development
Collaborates with Senior Directors in strategic planning of the department and addressing capacity issues. Ensures the resources are sufficient to meet performance and quality goals.
Develops and manages operational budgets, and operational plans.
Supports Six Sigma/Process Excellence and other process improvement initiatives.
Continually evaluates and improves Medical Technical Requests triage processes.
Ensures complete fulfillment of requests and audit findings.
Performance Monitoring and Evaluation
Develops, monitors and reports global processes and performance metrics (monthly reports).
Ensures resources are sufficient to meet performance and quality goals.
Evaluates production and processes to detect adverse patterns and trends.
Collaborates with senior management in resolving adverse trends and elevates issues to the Senior Director Medical Affairs as necessary.
Ensures the timely and efficient scheduling and execution of all support activities essential to the operation of the departments.
Facilitates communication between departments, global sites, and other functional areas.
Ensures regulatory compliance.
Personnel
Recruits, develops and evaluates personnel. Ensures sufficiently trained and competent personnel are available and properly supervised to meet the workload requirement and to fulfill the goals of the department.
Ensures management resources are available to oversee the operations of the department.
Develops department workload and efficiency forecasts.

Ensures client satisfaction through quality services and consultation services.
Essential External Client-related Job Duties
Ensures client satisfaction through excellent relationship management, testing quality and timely contractual execution.
Education:
Requires BS degree in Biology, Chemistry or other Life Science, or Medical Technology degree
Master's degree preferred
Fluent in English; Command of French is a plus
Computer literate
Experience:
People leadership experience
Requires 5 years management experience in a clinical laboratory environment
Leadership Competencies - Manager of Managers
Work is generally performed in an office environment
Exposure to a laboratory environment is expected
Potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens
Potential exposure to hazardous chemicals
